If you’re an ice cream die hard like me, then you won’t want to skip this little shop in the heart of Downtown Denver.

The line started quickly building up behind me as I debated going with the scooper’s recommendation of ‘Double Stuffed Cookies ‘n Cream’ vs. ‘Brotherfinger.’ So, on a whim I went with ‘Double Stuffed Cookies ‘n Cream.’
The scooper said it’s actually a vanilla based ice cream… surprise I know! Looks chocolate but that is because they use real double stuffed Oreos which alter the color.
The chunks are H-U-G-E!! This isn’t your average cookies ‘n cream ice cream, it’s 100x better.
The inside of Nuggs Ice Cream is classic. It’s not fancy but welcoming instead.

From the friendly scoopers, to cool ice cream wall art and old school white chairs and tables, it is a great place to sit down and enjoy whatever you order.
While the inside is welcoming, if you happen to visit Nuggs Ice Cream when there is nice weather, grab your cone or cup, root beer float, etc. and head outside. They’ve got this cute patio which reminds of those classic ice cream shops you see in the movies. They’ve got red umbrellas, wooden tables and benches. Bring along your furry friend like we did. Maybe even share a lick or two with them, if you didn’t order chocolate, of course!
