Confession time: I’m a total sucker for a good piece of cheesecake. I honestly didn’t even like cheesecake that much until a few years ago, when I had my first good piece of cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory and became a believer. While I’m not opposed to driving up to Salt Lake to indulge, I’ve found The Mighty Baker, a bakery that makes beautiful, delicious single-serving cheesecakes, just a few minutes away from my apartment!
The Mighty Baker, which is conveniently located right next to the Provo Library, offers a selection of cheesecakes in different flavors, all of which are incredible. The flavors also change on the daily, so you never really know what you’re going to get when you walk in!
As advertised on the storefront, Pete Tidwell, the Mighty Baker himself, won Food Network’s Cake Wars in 2016. Just try the cake and you’ll see why! The baked goods taste just as good as they look!
My favorite thing to do is grab a box of baked goods from The Mighty Baker and bring it home to share with family and friends. That way, I get to try a little bit of everything!
With an almost overwhelming selection of cheesecakes, tarts, cookies, cake slices (in Pete’s Cake Wars winning flavor), brioches, macarons by Brian, and stroopwafels, there is something for everyone at The Mighty Baker. My favorites include the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, the chocolate hazelnut brioche, and the oatmeal cranberry white chocolate chip cookies. This time, my cheesecake came topped with a dollop of peanut butter, which was unexpected but delicious!
The brioche (both sweet and savory) is only available on Saturdays, so I basically spend my entire week dreaming about those fluffy little rolls of goodness.
The Mighty Baker also gets brownie points for stocking my favorite peanut butter in the world: North Shore Goodies’ Original Coconut Peanut Butter! It’s pricey but so worth it. The store also sells homemade seasonal preserves in the warmer months. In addition to the baked goods sold in the storefront, The Mighty Baker offers cake tastings, custom wedding cakes, and dessert catering.
So, the next time you’re in Provo, take a quick detour and grab some goodies from The Mighty Baker to bring home (if they last that long)!
