  • MISO MAPLE GLAZED HAM 🍍🍒💛 INGREDIENTS 1 (10-14 lb.)pre-cooked, spiraled ham
1 (20-ounce) can pineapple slices (save juice)
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 Tbs white or light miso (not red)
1/4 cup reserved pineapple juice from can
1 Small jar of maraschino cherries INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove the ham from the refrigerator 1-2 hours before baking, allowing it to come room temperature. 20 minutes before baking, preheat your oven to 325°F, with the rack positioned in the middle. 2. Place the ham on a roasting pan or deep casserole dish. Pour 1/4 cup of the pineapple juice into a small cup and set aside. Pour the rest of the pineapple juice in the roasting pan with the ham. Using toothpicks, secure the pineapple rings to the outside surface of the ham, distributing evenly. Cover the ham with foil and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes. 3. Meanwhile, make the glaze. In a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, miso, and reserved 1/4 cup of pineapple juice. Whisk until smooth. Once the mixture is gently simmering, lower the heat to medium low and cook until thickened, whisking occasionally, about 8 to 12 minutes. The mixture will continue to thicken as it sits. 4. After the ham has cooked, remove from oven, discard the foil, and carefully discard the juices in the pan using a liquid baster or carefully pouring the juice into the sink. Using toothpicks, secure the maraschino cherries in the holes of the pineapple rings, one cherry per pineapple ring. Liberally glaze the entire ham with half of the miso maple glaze. 5. Return the ham to the oven, uncovered and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes. Remove from the oven, apply the glaze again, returning the ham to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes. The ham is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F. Remove from the oven and let rest until ready to serve. #femalefoodie #femalefoodierecipe #femalefoodieretrorecipes #holidayham #vintagerecipe #retrorecipe #bakedham #hamrecipe
