This Banzai Bowls acai bowl recipe is inspired by our favorite place in the world to get a fantastic acai bowl, Banzai Bowls in orange county and Hawaii. Nothing here is pre-made (you might have to wait a little longer than you’re hoping!), but the end result is always so satisfying.

A simple, no-fuss copycat Banzai Bowls acai bowl recipe. All you'll need is frozen fruit, fresh fruit, frozen acai, and a few toppings!

We developed this copycat recipe so that you could successfully create the perfect acai bowl consistency from your own kitchen. Start with the specified quantities for frozen fruit and liquid. If your acai bowl is too thick, add a little bit of liquid so that your mixture will blend more easily.

If you add too much, it may turn your acai bowl into a smoothie. Too thin? Add more frozen fruit or ice to thicken up your bowl base.

Banzai Bowls Acai Bowl Recipe

Brooke Eliason
Servings: 1 acai bowl
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice*
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 chopped up acai packet (100 gram packet)
  • 1/2 cup frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup frozen mangos
  • fresh strawberries, bananas, granola, mini chocolate chips, honey for topping**

Instructions

  • Put pineapple juice and coconut milk in blender. Run frozen acai packet under hot water for a few seconds to loosen up. Cut off top and squeeze from packet onto cutting board. Cut acai into small pieces and add to blender. Add frozen bananas and mangos to blender. Blend everything together until smooth. If too thick to blend, add about 1/4 cup of juice. If too thin, add more frozen fruit or ice to thicken. The final product should be the same consistency as a very thick milkshake.
  • Pour blender contents into bowl. Top with fresh fruit, granola, mini chocolate chips, and honey.* Enjoy immediately.

Notes

*You may substitute pineapple juice/coconut milk for another liquid such as hemp milk, almond milk, apple juice, guava juice, or pomegranate juice. Frozen bananas and mango may be substituted for other frozen fruit.
**Banzai Bowls serves a myriad of toppings for the different bowls on their menu. Top with fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, bananas, mangos, blueberries, goji berries, kiwi, and papaya. Non fruit toppings may include granola, coconut shreds, almond slices, bee pollen, chia seeds, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, nut butters, and honey.
