Pig & A Jelly Jar is an often forgotten fantastic breakfast and brunch spot in Salt Lake City, with additional locations in Ogden and Holladay. They have a great menu with scrambles and southern specialties and serve some of the best homemade biscuits in town served with locally made jams like strawberry rhubarb and blueberry lavender. Our favorite entree here is the ham hash, made with diced country ham, potatoes, red peppers, onions, local bacon, and sautéed greens, topped with lemon aioli and two sunny side eggs.

If you’re looking for a great weekend brunch spot in Salt Lake City tucked away in our favorite neighborhood (The Avenues), then a meal at Avenues Proper is a must. Café Niche is one of the best places to enjoy a minimalist breakfast in Salt Lake City. Situated just a stone’s throw from downtown SLC, this cozy and brightly lit cafe is a great place for breakfast and brunch with your significant other or girlfriends. The signature Niche Breakfast is our favorite order here, made with eggs, bacon or sausage, and two sides of your choice (get the avocado & hash browns), it’s well rounded and delicious. Using local fresh produce, Oasis Cafe specializes in fresh, whole ingredients that will make you feel good. Their brunch menu is served daily until 3:00 p.m., so you have more than enough time to down your fair share of appetizers, eggs benny, and pancakes. You really can’t make a wrong move ordering anything on their menu but we’re partial to their German buttermilk pancake. Covered in fresh blueberry compote and baked in a skillet, you need this hotcake in your life immediately. We also recommend their huevos rancheros for a killer and substantial savory breakfast.

7. Frankie & Essl’s

Any self-respecting brunch guide needs at least one breakfast sandwich shop, and we couldn’t be happier to endorse Frankie & Essl’s. Locally owned and specializing in breakfast sandwiches, Frankie & Essl’s is the perfect neighborhood joint for a quick takeout meal or a cozy brunch with a friend. A toasted and buttered brioche bun topped with two fried eggs is always a good idea for brunch. One of our favorite combos is the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with chipotle aioli sauce. It’s as good as it sounds and well worth your time. We would be in line for these no-frill breakfast sandwiches every morning if we only lived a smidge closer.

Breakfast offerings are almost exclusively savory, with menu items like salami and eggs, the Feldman’s omelet, or corned beef has. You’re here for the eggs benny (our favorite), served on a Jewish latke with Taylor ham and to-die-for hollandaise sauce.

3. Urban Hill

As if we needed another reason to visit Urban Hill, they also have a stellar brunch menu on Sunday mornings. It’s outstanding and truly some of the best brunch in Salt Lake City. When you’re getting a reservation for Urban Hill brunch, we recommend the earliest time available to watch the restaurant slowly come to life in the gorgeous interior dining room. Start your morning with a Hill’s Kitchen orange roll for a perfectly baked roll topped with the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting (literally had icing for every bite). For the main event, order the green chile eggs benedict (the kick of green chile is everything and signature to Urban Hill). Now this is brunch.

Manoli’s is a Mediterranean restaurant, so you can expect a great mix of traditional and unconventional brunch dishes, from biscuits and gravy, to loukaniko (Greek sausage) and eggs, to myzithra pancakes.
