Los Angeles: Redbird

Redbird, proceeding local favorite BLD, is a modern American restaurant that expresses the chef’s love for Los Angeles and gourmet comfort foods. Chef Neal Fraser and Pastry Chef Kasra Ajdari create a dynamic duo that combine seasonal ingredients with the approachable, multi-cultural influences of Los Angeles. Brunch is a favorite past-time in Los Angeles and herein lies the perfect space for it. With valet parking, terrific service and easy online reservations, Redbird is hard to beat when it comes to a perfect brunch spot.

Imagine you have a Blood Orange Mimosa paired with Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes. Seated in a cushioned chair in an indirectly lit tile patio. Your favorite girlfriend joins you with the sounds of champagne flutes clinging and distant freeways. That is Redbird. You truly feel you are a part of DTLA!

Redbird is in Downtown Los Angeles in an old historic cathedral. This left an ornate space of timeless architecture filled with a vibrant mix of inside and outside seating. The outside seating area has cushioned luxury seats, white marble tables and bar, fiddle figs to bring in some life and a large modern chimney to make it all feel warm and comfortable. This is all under a white canopy that lets in light but provides cover. A perfect brunch spot for a Sunday morning.

  • BLD Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes with Vermont Maple Syrup (best item from old BLD restaurant)
  • Avocado Salad (smoked bacon, county line little gems, buttermilk blue cheese vinaigrette)
  • Pork Belly with Polenta

If you want to get a local feel for DTLA in a historic location with out all the fuss and hustle, Redbird is a perfect stop!
