Female Foodie DC: Cava GrillFemale Foodie DC: Cava Grill   Female Foodie DC: Cava Grill It’s all about choice, customization, and creation at Cava Grill.  When you walk up to the counter, you will see nearly a dozen choices for your base, protein, dips + spreads, toppings, and dressings.  You just know it’s going to be your creation.  For the base, I tried the grains and greens; a little brown rice mixed with their signature SuperGreens (tasty kale + chopped Brussels sprouts).  I have some pita chips and chicken mixed in there too, but be sure to try the popular spicy lamb meatballs.  This bowl is topped with three of their well-known spreads: harissa (this one’s spicy!), roasted red pepper hummus, and CRAZY FETA (jalapeno-infused feta mousse – SO delicious and a customer favorite).  These dips and spreads are sold in Whole Foods locations along the East Coast, so be on the lookout and grab one today.

Cava Grill is the fast-casual spin-off of the table service restaurant Cava Mezze, which first opened in Rockville, Maryland in 2006.  High demand for the owners’ modern take on Greek and Mediterranean style cuisine helped them expand into the District of Columbia and Virginia.  Now, Cava plans to soon expand to Los Angeles.
