Our visit to Austin last month was for a few reasons 1) Cody has been raving about Austin for literally our entire marriage and was really excited for me to check it out 2) the foodie scene here is next level 3)BlogHer Food
was going to be in town so I thought why the heck not. What I didn’t anticipate, however, was that two of my incredible (and adorable) team members from San Antonio would be in town. I was able to meet with Jennifer and Erin for a delicious, adorable breakfast at Josephine House. Homemade hotcakes with the best company a girl could ask for? Yes please.
My Austinite friend Brady recommended Josephine House as one of the best places to go for brunch in Austin. Twist my arm. Before you step foot into Josephine House, you’ll be immediately smitten by the gorgeous and quaint ambiance and decor of this Clarksville cottage. A sister restaurant to another Austin restaurant, Jeffrey’s, Josephine House serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and dinner.
The three of us enjoyed trying a few different items off their breakfast menu, but the shining star was the highly recommended lemon ricotta pancakes. These moist, fluffy, golden hotcakes are served with blackberries, cultured butter, and maple syrup. A breakfast dish that will truly make your heart sing. And since I’m all for pairing something savory with my sweet, added a simple side of poached eggs. The perfect touch.
As Austinites love to mention, their weather is some of the best year-round. When you make the trip over to Josephine House, you’ll notice how many gorgeous and thoughtful outdoor seating options there are. I loved eating breakfast here and can’t wait to come back again on my next trip to Austin! The food was excellent, the service was friendly, and it was the perfect cozy homestyle dining experience. Looking forward to trying their huevos rancheros, charcuterie board, and shrimp & grits. Until next time!Josephine House
