Burnt Toast Cafe is lovely cafe right in the centre of the busy village that does a GREAT all day breakfast. Their menu isn’t huge (which is a good thing) and what they do is some great breakfast classics from sweet to savoury and healthy to not so healthy. You even get to do a bit of DIY and burn your own toast at the table with toasters dotted around place.
Like i said the food is great (and I’ll get to that in a bit) but what I really love is the fact they do a proper cup of tea, in a proper mug. No fancy tea pots in sight.
After a short wait we got to sit down and decide what to have. They do get pretty busy at the weekend especially around 11am, so be aware you may have to queue for a little while but it always goes down really quick. More time to choose what to have i always think.
Yes i know EVERYONE does eggs benedict and eggs florentine but this is the only one I’ve ever had that has brioche rather than regular toast. Sounds weird but the sweet bread with the creamy hollandaise and salty bacon is delish!
You may have noticed the amazing looking pancakes too and yes i’ll admit thats my fault. I can never choose between sweet and savory (and my love for pancakes is unreal) so I always try and convince my friends to order some to share, and yes my convincing skills worked!!!! 3 of their ‘famous pancakes’ arrived covered in maple syrup and berries. So so good but don’t ask me to choose just make sure order both.
If your thinking of where to go for breakfast on a weekend I’d say try Burnt Toast Cafe and the brioche eggs benedict with a side of bacon. Then take a walk around and see where you can go next. Im thinking French and Grace or Elephant will be next on the list.
