Stop everything you’re doing, get in your car, and drive over to Rich’s Bagels right this second. I swear, if I catch any of you eating at Einstein’s after I tell you about this, things will get ugly. Rich’s Bagels is a tiny little shop on the corner of a strip mall in Holladay (they also have small locations in Sandy and at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, but it is a true hidden gem. Their menu has everything from the classic bagels and cream cheese, to sandwiches, salads, oatmeal, and massive cookies.

They’re famous for their “original asiago cheese” bagel and their homemade honey butter.
We opted for a bacon, egg, and swiss breakfast sandwich along with a cinnamon sugar bagel with honey butter and both were fantastic. Their bagels would honestly be great without any toppings at all. They’re firm but not too firm, soft without being completely like bread, and ideal for smothering with spreads or piling high with toppings.

After trying their honey butter I’m completely obsessed and will probably be back weekly just to pick up a tub of it. The egg on the breakfast sandwich was cooked to perfection and the asiago cheese bagel definitely lived up to the hype.
While we were there, we also picked up a huge peanut butter cookie to indulge in later and it was satisfyingly the softest, yummiest cookie I could expect. It’s definitely going to be hard to resist getting another one when I stop in next.

Either way, I’m sure you’ll see me there in the next few days trying out their pasta salad and quirky cream cheese flavors! Next time you’re craving a bagel, pick from one of Rich’s Bagels’ three locations and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

I don’t live in Utah anymore, but come to visit at least once a year. Rich’s is always my first stop for breakfast. The asiago cheese bagel is something I dream about. So good!
