Female Foodie SLC: Snowbird Ski ResortFemale Foodie SLC: Snowbird Ski ResortAs Female Foodie Amanda Proudfit and I compiled our list of top ski resorts in Utah for a quest to find the best dishes to go with them, we concluded that Snowbird could simply not be left off this list. Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort has been a Salt Lake City fixation since 1971. Originally with three lifts, The Tram, and two lodges, Snowbird has since expanded to over 11 trams and lifts, half a dozen on site lodging locations, and is now home to hundreds of thousands of skiing crazed locals and tourists annually. Snowbird has invested over $35 million in new capital improvements for the current 2015/16 skiing season, including a newly remodeled Cliff Lodge, smartcard ticketing, expanded snowmaking, and a brand new mountaintop guest experience- The Summit.

I exited my ride via the Aerial Tram, and was completely taken aback by the incredible views from the top of the mountain. In all directions we admired the never ending views of the gorgeous Wasatch Mountains. After gawking and gazing a little bit more, my small group and I headed into The Summit Restaurant, where we feasted on the Meditteranean panini (served on focaccia with fresh mozzarella, spinach, cured tomatoes, & basil), a margherita pizza, roasted New York strip loin, and a bowl of chilean butternut squash stew with chickpeas and couscous (personal favorite). A perfect mountain meal filled with warm comfort items and lots of carbs- an excellent refuel before heading back on the mountain.
