Salt Lake City has a fantastic emerging foodie scene. We have our Mexican go-to’s, some true to form Thai food, a handful of Vietnamese joints, and among other things we’ve FINALLY got ourselves a tried and true Mediterranean establishment. Spitz specializes in the Döner Kebab, a Mediterranean street food staple. The combination of minced lamb and beef with fresh vegetables, tzatziki, and lavish chips is the flavor & texture combination of the century!

IMG_0723The Street Cart Döner (^^^) in all its glory. Have yet to try these toppings in sandwich form because the wraps are so. dang. good. Also. The sweet potato fries are the best you will have in your life. Zero exaggeration and many thanks to my #1 for shedding light on this magnifico side dish.

IMG_0713The beautiful Döner Salad for all you health freaks out there. Romaine, onion, green pepper, cucumber, olives, feta, pepperoncinis, tomato, tzatziki, chili sauce, lavish chips, crispy garbanzo beans, fried pita, and a side of balsamic dressing. Thanks to my girl @foodieonehundred for this awesome pic and recommendation.

IMG_0758Are you salivating yet?? Now that I’ve walked you down Döner Kebab Lane, let’s grab some together! This Tuesday I’m hosting a Foodie Meetup in the new Sugarhouse location. This is for you and your boyfriend/mother in law/best friend from college/dog sitter’s sister/mailman/whathaveyou to come enjoy some Mediterranean with a 50% DISCOUNT. Deal of all deals?? I think so. The folks from Spitz and I can’t wait to meet you! Cheers.
