Ever wonder where celebrities and locals go to have a relaxing and delicious breakfast/lunch in Los Angeles? The Sycamore Kitchen is a fast-casual style restaurant with outdoor seating in their private patio that runs along La Brea Ave. Of course, if you want to go on the weekend, you will have to expect a wait. The line often runs out the door, but don’t worry! The turnover is really fast and you can spend your time in line browsing their beautiful, delicious sweet and savory pastries while in line. Or you can order to-go/pick-up. Parking here is not the easiest– you can pay per hour on the parking meters along La Brea or you can pay at the parking structure on La Brea and 2 nd St.

The ambience is very hipster – reclaimed wood tables, chrome chairs, exposed brick walls, and large glass windows.

There are some must-trys on both their breakfast and lunch menus. For breakfast, I suggest the house-made coconut pecan granola with milk, pork belly hash, cinnamon brioche French toast, eggs benedict or the fried egg tartine (my personal favorite and served all day). Also, their vanilla bean latte is one of the best vanilla lattes I have had in LA. Please note the breakfast only lasts until 11:30am or noon on the weekends, so they are not a “brunch” spot. For lunch, the double B-LTA or grilled short rib sandwich hit the spot. It is REALLY hard to go here and order one thing. My table is always full of at least two different menu items and one pastry.

What I love most about this place is the pet-friendly patio – I always take my cats with me.
