If you’re looking for a real treat, head to downtown Salt Lake City to The Melting Pot! When I say treat, I mean treat. This place is everything you have experienced and know about fondue and more. Not that I am one to complain about hot melted chocolate dipped strawberries or cheesey spinach artichoke dip…but let’s be real, who would!

Perfect for an anniversary, first date, or even a casual evening out with friends, The Melting Pot will not disappoint. With a bowl full of options to satisfy your savory tongue and sweet tooth, be prepared for a full stomach and a happy heart. Ask your server for help on going over the menu, they’ll give the best tips; we were served by Taylor and he was awesome!

Your choice of cheese fondue. But wait, it’s not like any other fondue place, these guys make it right in front of you! They bring a tray full of ingredients, melt the cheese and mix in the ingredients all on your very own personal  table stovetop. My mind was instantly so impressed and so blown away by the craft and creativity it takes to make these dishes. The Spinach Artichoke dip was incredible – we loved dipping the apples inside.

Simple, yet classy and unique if topped with their Garlic & Wine seasoning. The mozzarella in the dish was some of the best I’ve ever had. Looks like there is a reason they are known for their cheese (fondue).

Female Foodie SLC: The Melting PotFemale Foodie SLC: The Melting PotMake sure you aren’t too full yet, because you’ve got an entree coming! We ordered The Classic and it. was. delicious. Our server created a broth right in front of us that we got to add our own meat (beef, chicken, shrimp, pork) and vegetables to. If you’ve ever been to Thailand, or any Asian country, this is super similar to Hot Pot. You get to cook your own meat at your own pace – you’re your own chef! The best part? The array of six homemade dipping sauces – holy cow you could eat those with anything. The meat was already so flavorful, but I could drink those sauces, so I had to dip, too.

Female Foodie SLC: The Melting PotFemale Foodie SLC: The Melting PotRemember how I said don’t get full yet? Well, for reals, do not get full yet. It’s time for DESSERT!! Chocolate fondue, the one thing you’ve been waiting for, is here and ready to melt in your mouth. The dessert menu is even harder to choose from than the dinner menu, if you can believe it. After much collaboration, we decided on the Chocolate S’mores fondue. Yes, you heard me correctly. S’mores. Ever wonder why s’mores are called s’mores? Well I honestly have no idea, but all I know is that after I was finished, I definitely wanted s’more. (too far?)

Female Foodie SLC: The Melting PotFemale Foodie SLC: The Melting PotBars of Chocolate, thrown in with a marshmallow, lit on FIRE to melt and covered with graham cracker crumbles? K. Dinner and a show. I knew it was going to be delicious simply by looking at it. Given with a plethora of dipping options (fruits, cheesecake, brownies…) and you’re one happy customer.

Female Foodie SLC: The Melting PotSo if this post hasn’t convinced you to head over, just listen to your stomach and go. What can get better than a dish that is created by you? Whether you use your fingers or the skewers, that fondue is waiting to be eaten by you, yes you. So go and I’ll see you there!

Female Foodie SLC: The Melting PotThank you to the manager, Josh, for making our experience great! Great people and great food – can’t get anything better.
