Solitude Mountain Resort is a beautiful winter and summer resort located just 30 minutes from Salt Lake City up Big Cottonwood Canyon, and has recently been made even better from its somewhat recent acquisition by Deer Valley Resort. They opened a new high-speed quad, added a new run from the Apex lift to the new Summit Express lift, and revamped the menus at each of their restaurants. We recommend the braised Dr. pepper short rib tacos or the chile verde nachos for a delicious savory meal!

We are big fans of gorgeous, Snowbasin Resort with all of its 3,000 skiable acres and 3,000 verticle feet, and thankfully the food here is fantastic too! The dining scene here is worth checking out with seasonal, local items to match a pristine mountain experience. We love trying the new chili offered every season at the John Paul lodge following the No Name Chili Fest that happens each fall, where a crowd favorite chili is selected for the following season’s menu! Make sure to hit up the Cinnabar at Earl’s Lodge near the resort entrance for all of your apres ski needs- we love the hummus and pita plate, the smoked salmon tray!

Some of the best Utah ski resort dining is at Park City Mountain Resort, and one of our favorite places to eat during or after a day on the mountain is Lookout Cabin. This fine-dining restaurant serves incredible food with views of the Wasatch Mountains that are absolutely stunning. Start with the Rocky Mountain fondue or the oysters benedict for appetizers while you sit and soak in the views. For entrees we recommend the bison bolognese, Alpine mac n’ cheese, horseradish honey-glazed grilled salmon, and the Wagyu burger. Everything here is fresh, unique, and flavorful and the incredible setting is just the cherry on top.

Some of the best Utah ski resort dining is at Alta Ski Area. With a base elevation of 8,530 feet and an average of 545 inches of snowfall each year, the conditions couldn’t be better for skiing. But as all seasoned skiiers know, a great day on the mountain is only complete with great food to accompany fresh powder. For snacks or breakfast we recommend stopping by Alta Java, a quaint and convenient stop for hot drinks and snacks. Try the Mexican Hot chocolate, liege waffles with fresh berries and cream, or the homemade empanadas. For something a little more substantial and sit down, enjoy a meal at Collin’s Grill, located on the 3rd level of Watson Shelter. We love the French onion soup on especially cold days and also recommend the cheese and greens plate, fresh cobb salad, stuffed acorn squash, and beef skewers.

Deer Valley Resort is one of Utah’s premier skiing options and it’s unquestionably home to some of the best Utah ski resort dining. With six different snow-covered mountains (Little Baldy Peak, Bald Eagle, Bald, Flagstaff, Empire, & Lady Morgan), and food offerings that are not only diverse but also delicious, you can have your cake and eat it too. Start your day off at the Snow Park Lodge for the homemade challah french toast, eggs benedict, and the house smoked salmon omelet. After a few runs stop by Bald Mountain Pho for tofu & shiitake mushroom pho or the Wagyu beef pho, and a grilled Asian chicken salad because #health. And when your skis boots are off and you’re looking for something delicious to satisfy your apres ski cravings, make sure to check out The Brass Tag for some of our favorite food at the entire resort, including the chimichurri nachos and the artisan charcuterie board.
