Thank you, foodie community for being incredible. Because this was some of the best “store bought” (not really) pie I have had in forever!

Emporium Pies has three locations in the Dallas area. One is riiight next door to my new fav bbq spot in the world in Deep Ellum #holla, and the others are located in the Bishop Arts district and McKinney. Because we were staying in Allen, I decided to take the 10 minute drive and hop on over to the McKinney location, completely stoked.

Emporium Pies in Dallas, Texas | femalefoodie.com Talking me into trying a homemade pie shop is one thing (we call that a no-brainer), but true conversion is another. Growing up with a pie aficionado as your mother can create quite the debacle when you’re putting out feelers for delicious, homemade pie.

It’s with my greatest pleasure to share with you that the slices at Emporium Pies did not disappoint! Their handmade pies (never prepared with artificial preservatives, hydrogenated oils, dyes, or corn syrup, yuck) are literally a reminiscent slice of some of the delicious pies I grew up on.

Emporium Pies in Dallas, Texas | femalefoodie.comWhen you visit Emporium, they’ll have more pies on their menu than one can handle. It was quite possibly one of the hardest decisions I’ve made in my life. And to make matters worse I was all by myself. But sweet cashier kindly made some recommendations and I ended up with three separate slices. Giddy up.

Emporium Pies in Dallas, Texas | femalefoodie.com First was the Drop Dead Gorgeous: a fantastic spin on your classic pumpkin pie.

This one is actually a pumpkin custard served atop of a homemade gingerbread crust. I loved the nostalgia of the classic holiday favorite with a fun spin on the crust. Absolutely delicious.

Emporium Pies in Dallas, Texas | femalefoodie.comMy second pie for this self-induced pie coma extravaganza was the Drunken Nut. A bourbon pecan pie served with a buttery shortbread crust.

I’m an absolute sucker for a good pecan pie and this one absolutely took the cake (no pun intended).

Emporium Pies in Dallas, Texas | femalefoodie.comThe third and, in my opinion, best of them all was the Lord of the Pies. Just as royal as it sounds, this homemade round of perfection is a deep dish apple pie with cinnamon streusel. And because I’m on a hugeeeee pie with streusel topping kick, this one officially became my #1. You’ll swoon over the classic crust topped with freshly chopped apples served with house made caramel and crispy cinnamon streusel.

Absolutely smitten by these homemade pies. If you ever find yourself in the Dallas area, do yourself a favor and snag a slice (or three). Fine pies for fine folk, indeed. Happy week before Thanksgiving!
