With a family cabin nearby and more restaurants than you can keep track of in Salt Lake City, Park City often falls on my back burner.

Consider this my public declaration of investigating the PC foodie scene more vigilently this year.

What I *can* say, however, is that when I do eat in Park City, it’s usually at El Chubasco. El Chubasco is a fast casual Mexican restaurant that sits right off the main drag.

It’s popular among locals and tourists (and for good reason). Once you wait out the line and place your order, you’ll be given a basket of chips only to turn around and find a buffet full of salsa. My suggestion- TRY EVERYTHING! Or at least most everything. Call me an ugly tourist, but my heart sings at the chance to dip and dunk endless amounts of tortilla chips into more than two dozen different kinds of homemade salsa.

My favorite thing to do is combine half chipotle crema with half salsa ranchera.

Other house favorites include the chile rellenos, fajitas, and the spicy shrimp, other wise known as “camarones a la diabla”.

El Chubasco is the perfect stop for your next meal in Park City, whether you’re dining for the evening, grabbing something to go, or simply soaking it all in from their casual porch with a burrito in hand.  They’ve been serving Utahns and visitors for nearly 20 years and it definitely shows- thanks El Chubasco!
