Have you ever visited The Leonardo in Salt Lake City? It’s a relatively new contemporary science and technology museum- right on 5th south downtown! Housed in the same building as the former SLC library, and currently exhibiting the original DEAD SEA SCROLLS.

[Was able to take a look after the Leo Libations event. Astounded. Enlightened. Fascinated. Anywho…]
My friends at The Leonardo were kind enough to invite me to a couple of their events. Event #1: “Leo Libations”. Leo Libations is a monthly wine pairing that is offered every first Thursday of the month at the museum. I’m not much of a drinker myself (shocker), so when they said I could come for the ride and enjoy the food, I was in. Informative, light-hearted, and tasty. All small plates prepared by Zanetta Jones.
Course #1 (pictured above): Pesto flatbread with candied walnuts, apples, kale, and brie. Oh my.
Course #2: Baked penne with a basil/thyme/kale cream sauce, red bell peppers, and chicken confit.
Course #3: Cucumber chamomile gelee with braised ginger, vanilla, pineapple, and edible flowers.
Course #4: White truffle oil and cremini mushroom tart with candied pancetta, arugula, and herb oil.

Course #5: Braised beef with broccooli mashed potatoes, thyme and vanilla panna cotta, and toasted baguette- accented with a blueberry and pink peppercorn reduction.

Deliiiiiiicious evening. Fun to try a few things and learn about the wines of Burgundy.
Looking forward to their next event (hint: aphrodisiac).
