Top 10 Healthy Restaurants in Salt Lake City

Happy 2018! We hope that the beginning of the new year is treating you well and understand that a lot of our readers are aiming for a healthier lifestyle including finding healthier places to eat! Although we certainly aren’t a healthy eating blog (cue the cheeseburgers, pizza, and donuts), we believe in moderation and balance in all things. Healthily fueling your body doesn’t have to be miserable, especially while eating out!

We’ve compiled a list of our favorite healthy spots around Salt Lake City. These restaurants range from strict “healthy eating” restaurants to other favorite places with great healthy options. We share these recommendations with the hope to provide more healthy dining out ideas and meals that we know will leave your foodie heart satisfied.

10. Mollie & Ollie

Setup in a classy, old building, this healthy eatery spoke to us! Well-cooked proteins, fresh vegetables, and unique homemade sauces all mixed together make for a great meal. They have a mix of their M&O created salads, scrambles, and stir fry; yet, you still had the option of creating your own. If you’re wanting fast food, yet healthy, head on over! Our pick? Chimichurri Pesto stir fry: amazing pesto sauce, freshly-made egg noodles topped with kale, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, and perfectly cooked beef = a delicious bowl of food.  Mollie & Ollie (159 Main St, Salt Lake City, UT  //  801.328.5659)

9. Protein House

Fairly new to the Salt Lake City dining scene and located in Draper, we love the healthy dining options at Protein House! This fast casual restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with unprocessed, healthy dining options (nutritional facts included)! Our recommendation is the barbecue turkey burger- topped with fat free cheddar, Canadian bacon, barbecue sauce (of course), and a medley of peppers, red onions, and mushrooms makes the best blend of flavors and the perfect healthy burger. Protein House (12259 S 450 East, Suite B, Draper // 801.601.1238)

8. CoreLife Eatery

New to Sandy, CoreLife is dedicated to providing clean, healthy, and great tasting food to that tastes good and can be enjoyed! They have several great menu options including green and grain bowls, power plates, and warm rice bowls. We love that they make the food right in front of you so that you can choose to add or omit ingredients as you go down the line. Don’t forget to try some of their delicious handcrafted beverages including cucumber basil lemonade, cranberry cayenne lemonade, beet lemonade (our favorite!), homemade fruit punch, and kombucha. CoreLife Eatery (10395 State St, Sandy, UT // 385.237.3570)

7. Pulp Lifestyle Kitchen

Whether you’re an avid nutritionist or a hearty muncher, Pulp Lifestyle Kitchen can satisfy any appetite, healthy and non-healthy eaters alike. Their specialty besides healthy ingredients? Homemade juices! Whether you’re wanting to do a juice cleanse, or simply craving a midday snack, these are awesome. In terms of food menu options, everyone will love the variety of choices available. 6. Aubergine & Co.

Aubergine & Company is filling, healthy, and a totally tastily satisfying experience. Whether you want one of their signature dishes or choose to make your own salad or sandwich, they will not limit your imagination. I promise that your palate and stomach will be happy after this meal because of the many toppings and sauces available. The homemade hummus, pita bread, and tzatziki sauce make any dish to die for.  We recommend trying the pita with your favorite toppings or a smoothie if you’re looking for something lighter (the banana monkey is delicious!).  Aubergine & Company (2122 S Highland Dr., SLC, UT // 801.487.4321)

5. Vive Juicery

Now located in downtown SLC, Sugar House, and in Draper, Vive Juicery uses local farms and resources in every product and are constantly focusing on combining ingredients for the drinkers benefit. Each bottle has its own purpose, ranging from energy boosting to detoxifying. Not only do their juices provide immense health benefits, but they’re actually tasty, too! Being healthy can be tasty? 4. GR Kitchen

We love GR Kitchen for delicious, healthy, and fresh greek food! Choose from classic favorites like pilafi and Greek salad or healthier options like quinoa, kale, or roasted veggies. Their fast-casual model allows for you to select your protein, sauces, sides, and toppings completely customized for every dining experience. Our recommendation is the classic Gyro salad with tzatziki, feta, and alllll the veggies!  GR Kitchen ( 7702 Union Park Ave, Midvale, UT // 801.352.7406 )

3. The Rose Establishment

A Salt Lake City favorite, The Rose Establishment is located a block away from Pioneer park. Not only is The Rose home to a classy, modern coffee shop, but they also create deliciously healthy and satisfying dishes! These two aspects coupled together creates an experience that is so calming and enjoyable. Feel good and fuel your body well for breakfast or dinner. We recommend the Brunch Bowl and the Roots Sandwich (by the way, their chocolate chip cookie is super yummy too! #staysane). The Rose Establishment (235 400 W, Salt Lake City, UT // 801.990.6270 )

 

2. Root’s Cafe 

Tucked into the center of Millcreek, this cafe specializes in locally grown products and healthy unique plates. If you’re ever in the neighborhood (a.k.a. get in the neighborhood), head over to Root’s Cafe! It’s easy to miss, but hard to forget. They are open for breakfast and lunch 7 days each we but we are definitely partial to their breakfast (some of the best in town, and guilt free too!). Menu favorites include the Peeto breakfast sandwich, buckwheat pancakes, and “the cleanser” juice. Root’s Cafe (3474 S 2300 E, Salt Lake City, UT // 801.277.6499)

1. The Protein Foundry

The Protein Foundry is unquestionably one of the BEST healthy restaurants in Salt Lake City. Whether you want to start your morning off right or have a bite after a workout, The Protein Foundry is worth your while. They have a great variety of healthy and delicious foods on their menu from gourmet shakes to acai bowls to yogurt bowls to homemade toasts. We recommend the Snickerdoodle shake, the Velvet Samba acai bowl (the granola is seriously amazing), the Ares yogurt bowl, and the Cali toast. The Protein Foundry (6909 South 1300 East, Cottonwood Heights // 801.676.9573)
